FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- Tristin Breen claimed his second tournament title of the season as the Alderson Broaddus wrestling team competed at the Georgia Collegiate Open Saturday afternoon hosted by Emmanuel College.

The Battlers had a strong showing at 184 not only from Breen, but also Josh Dailey. Breen scored a first period pin and then a tech fall to advance to the semifinals. In the semifinal match, Breen earned a 6-2 decision. Dailey used a pair of major decisions to advance to the semifinals and gutted out a 3-2 decision to advance to meet Breen in the final. In the semifinal match, Dailey was injured and Breen scored the win via injury default.

Dillon Lemons wrestled his way to a fifth place finish. A first period pin and a major decision advanced Lemons to the semifinals. A pair of losses dropped Lemons to the fifth place match where he scored a 10-2 major decision.

Gino Sita also made his way to the semifinals with a pair of tech falls and a pin. Sita fell in the semifinals to the NAIA's fifth ranked wrestler at 174 Lucias Van Rensburg and bowed out of the tournament.

The Battlers fifth wrestler to reach the semifinals was Daniel Booth. He scored back-to-back major decisions to advance to the quarterfinals. In his quarterfinal match, Booth scored a 6-2 decision.

Curtis Cox dropped his opening match 6-4, but went on a run of five straight wins including a pair of pins to claim the consolation championship.

"We had some guys wrestle really well and we still have some things to work on," said head coach Sam Gardner. "We will get back in the room and do some work based on what we saw this weekend and continue to get better."

The Battlers return to action on Nov. 30 when they travel to the Petrofes Invitational hosted by Messiah College.
