comments: I would just like to say I can't wait for wrestling season to start. The next thing I would like to say is that every one should look out for BRAXTON COUNTY this year. I know that they will be a very solid team which will have a lot of talented young men. I also think that they have at least 6 potential State Tournament WINNERS.

I am a coach in Memphis. I coach at Westside High School, a small inner city school of 400 students. We began wrestling four years ago. We have grown to where I have 55 wrestlers on the team. We are working out on a twenty-five year old mat. we need a good used one badly. I am our fund raiser, so price is a concern. I have managed to raise a good sum, but I am very price conscious. E-mail me if you might be able to help.
Also I need used gear, such as shoes, headgears and knee pads. Many of my kids cannot afford these items. I would be willing to buy them. As I will be paying for it, I am, once again, price conscious. If anyone can help us, please contact me.
Thanks.........Coach William K. Richardson

Well, the list grows smaller this year with West Virginia wrestlers at West Liberty State College. This year, only Jason Jones, Alex McClung, and Eric McCartney have been added to the roster. Others might come at the semester, but this is it for now.

From last years post of this site, Jason Unger and Luke Underwood are in their graduation year, so their wrestling future is uncertain as of now. Neither of them will wrestle this season. Cliff Ward might possibly come out of retirement at the semester, but still isn't sure.

Two Parkersburg boys, Marty Collins and Joel Newberry have apparantly left school. Denny Lebec has left the sport, going for a tough major now, and said that is where he will put his focus through college. Langston Shaffer is following other pursuits now, but it is rumored that that he's a possible transfer at the semester to join Jeremy Hart at Appalachian State.

Chris Neptune, Ryan Muldrew, and Chris Robinson are not students this year at West Lib. Reports are that Neptune may be back in at the semester. I've not seen Ryan on campus this year, and from what's been said, he's still at Kent State but not wrestling. Chris Robinson is now attending WVU.

With all these wrestlers gone this season, I might add that Ryan Courtney, Josh Waugh, Jason Scott, and Eric Koontz are pushing for starting spots this season. As a team, a top ten ranking is a good chance. I guess we'll see...

comments: This is for all of the "diehard" guys that can't wait for the season to start or anyone wanting to get a jump on the competition. Ken Chertow's Camp of Champs are outstanding. Why spend all day at the gym for less than 30 minutes of mat time when you can have 12 hours of QUALITY INSTRUCTION AND HARD WRESTLING for virtually the same cost. Camps are offered at various locations throughout October and November. For more details contact me at teameaster@aol.com or chertow@olympianwrestling.com See you there.
