Notes from Coach Doyle
Sean Doyle, Head Coach, Wheeling Jesuit University
August 15, 2016

As our incoming freshman are scheduled to move in this Thursday and our returners this weekend, the anticipation is building. Just over 3 years ago, there was no 'Wheeling Jesuit Wrestling,' there was no one walking the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University as a member of the wrestling team and no facilities in place. In 3 short years, with fantastic support from our university and community, a growing and talented roster, a facility that rivals the best in the country and a national caliber schedule, the team is in position to continue it's progress towards the top.

We want to take a look back at the successes as we prepare for a run at an NCAA Team Championship!

The growth of the program and the culture created in the past 36 months is incredible. From day one of the program, our mission has been focused on becoming leaders in all areas of our lives. It is certainly a process, with many learning moments, but our guys have done a wonderful job of building this. A ton of credit to the young men within our program that have put it in place. Here are some quick facts displaying the hard work and commitment that our team has placed in our key areas.

2015-2016

Community Service Hours: 1148.5
Team GPA: 2.81

2016-2017

What is not seen within these measurable items is the number of leadership positions, internships and other aspects of the every day life of a Wheeling Jesuit Wrestler. Our main goals of becoming better individuals, prepared for life after college is top priority, and we're confident our guys are getting there!

Thank you for all of your support in the past 3 years and we look forward to building the Cardinal Culture to new levels as we pursue our goals for the 2016-2017 season.

Have a great week! Coach Doyle
