Just our luck! We finally fill the 106 spot and it is the region that is "loaded!"

Re: Sportsmanship

I do have a question for the officials. It is sort-of related to all the noise about last nights East Fairmont match, but I am asking because it raised a curiosity, not to preclude any judgment. Is there a template or rubric to guide what is unsportsmanlike conduct and what is flagrant misconduct? ...

Re: RESULTS

I post all of Hampshire's results on TrackWrestling. I have not posted them on here because it seems redundant. To say that we "have not done a very good job posting their results", is offensive to me. If you would like to post the results, here is the link to them: http://www.trackwrestli...

This is a clarification from Dr. Welker's "Making the Call" about 1/3 of the way down the page. http://www.wvmat.com/official/official.htm Q:As a followup to the previous question, a wrestler has wrestled 145 and on occasion moved up during dual meets. What happens if he weighs in with the...

Re: State Tournament 2017 - What Happened

Coach Archer, It was nice to meet you in the "bull pen." There is no need to apologize for doing the right thing. Thanks for the information on what transpired. I think things would have easier for everyone, had the WVSSAC been as open and forthcoming as you have been. Ronnie Odom Hampshir...

I definitely saw one not "call the fall", but haven't we all? And it did affect the outcome.

Re: APB on Jarritt Flynn - AAA 145

He should be in. 2 wrongs don't make a right. I agree. Those that were present on Thursday, February 23, 2017 and weighed in, and yes, they weighed in 145, 152, 170 wrestlers, should be the ones that are officially entered and allowed to wrestle in the tournament, whether delayed or not. To requali...

Re: Last second weight changes?

So let me get this straight you have a 182 giving up possibly a 100 lbs. Is there no clear path to the championships at 182-195-220 this is crazy. I hope he doesn't get hurt when one of them big boys sprawls on him. Good luck to all today and tomorrow. 285 lb. Division - Minimum weight is 197...

Re: Switching Weight Classes and Win/Loss Record

From page 7 of the WVSSAC 2016-2017 High School Wrestling Coaches Packet: Minimum Wrestling Weight After being assessed for his minimum wrestling weight, the first time he/she wrestles at his/her minimum wrestling weight he/she must make base weight. He or she may not weigh-in at his or her minimum ...

Re: Most Individual Pins

If you are winning all your matches by fall, your coach needed to engineer a tougher schedule - just my .02. I wish we would travel more and wrestle farther west to see tougher competition. I've been advocating (and fundraising) for four years now to no avail, as has many of our parents. It is what...

Re: Shaking Hands

We need to quit talking about shaking hands for the next three years. Wrestling has bigger problems to deal with. 1. Low Participation. There are fewer "hands" to shake. 2. Injury prevention. Too many wrestlers out this season. Few "hand" injuries but too many knees. 3. Off the ...
