Re: Concussion Protocol - role of Tournament Director
The trainer put him on concussion protocol not the coach. He used 3.47 of the 5 minutes protocol. If their is a MD in gym he can be asked. The trainer was smart enough to know he has way more experience then her. So is the question. 1. Is it legal? Absolutely 2. Are you questioning the coach/doctors...

I agree with all you said. I am sure if you reach out to Dough through email he could get you that information. I don't think salaries should be discussed on this board. Just my humble opinion. I do think since they combined the middle schools and put them on same campus as High School this program ...

This is one of the main things I can not stand about this page. Here we have a 17 year old kid who made major a decision in his life. I am sure with the input of his parents. Instead of everyone expressing congratulations for him. We all want to be computer chair experts. In my opinion he could have...

FORTHEKIDS is a sure fire bet to respond if anyone from the northern panhandle or an official is mentioned. You don’t have to be the hero. Not everyone is trying to be a jerk when they call something into question. That you so routinely substitute your judgment for docs and tell us all what he envis...

Truly is sad a page DOC spent building to promote the sport has turned into this. Mike good luck to Anthony looking forward to years to come. Doc, thank you for trying to do the right thing. Some people have nothing better to do. IT IS WHAT IT IS. As a legendary coach once told me. "You have pe...

First let me say I did not see it. However I feel it is important to know that a suplex is illegal by application. Which means does not matter how he landed. If the the initial was straight up then it is illegal. They did that to prevent injuries. Understand a lot of time people twist to side at la...

Re: Call the Call
This is a good sensible discussion. Several accurate comments and opinions. Stalling is the most difficult call in wrestling to make. Think of it in this way. You are watching a basketball game. Any level except professional. Player runs into the defender or the defender blocks his progress. What i...

Re: Call the Call
I will only say this... STALLING is a judgment call! The key in my opinion is the official consistent in his calls. That is all you can asked for. Both coaches and wrestlers know what officials call stalling more aggressive then others. As long as official is consistent in them, then you know what y...

I see WVU wrestling struggling the next few years. Recruiting new talent will be the focus, most will likely be redshirting. With the increased focus on concussions and the long term damage they can cause, what about a wrestler who takes a blow to the head and exhibits signs of a concussion....ie. dizziness, unconsciousness, lack of balance, blurred vision, etc? I am pretty sure in the rule book it says that the contest ...
