I was hoping that the AA/A lineup would come out.

Seems to be a lot of movement in the 113 class and yes should be very interesting. I believe we need to take a look at 120 and 145 AAA too. If regions workout as forecast. There will be some very good matches to watch in all three weight classes!!

Scary thing is that there are a lot of kids in our state that the only meal they get and a warm building to stay in for 8 hours is a school. I agree as a society we are becoming soft... And the "cover your ass" has gotten out of hand.

all kids have a Middle School to wrestle for.. How do you gauge the accuracy? A lot of good wrestlers in the state do not have a Middle School program. Another problem some Middle Schools athletes will not participate in the WVYWA Championship. How do you gauge the best in state?

This sport needs to be promoted from the youth level up in a positive way. I can't stand the thought that every child should get an award for showing up. Some maybe most counties do very little to promote organized Middle School teams. And, we have area's that should be booming with kids but no back...

A lot of kids bodies change 7 to 8 grade. Shoot some of these 8th graders will be at a given weight Nov. 1st and come January 1st can hit a big growth spurt be another 10 lbs. I just hate to see parents allow cutting 3+ lbs..

I'll say it again.
Have an age base State Tournament and also do a Middle School Tournament that is open to all WV Middle Schools age kids with a MS team or not with a team (club). Most of the 7th graders last year that were 12 years old wrestled within their age (11-12).

This rule will be suspended for this season and readdressed at our first meeting after the conclusion of the 2017 State Tournament.
