Re: Quad Wed. 2/10 South, Oak Glen, Weirton and Warren, Ohio
I hate the South blowhards when they cheer for there team and point out great accomplishments by their wrestlers. No other school does this and it just makes mad. I have never read about a South fan doing this on here other than to give the proper recognition to a team and individuals who deserve i...

Re: Single A polls
That's crazy, but it won't matter if Greenbrier West is #1 at the end of February! Seriously though, I imagine this is what football programs feel like when the college football coaches poll comes out. How can you vote this way if you've looked at the results before you voted? I like it when a vote...

Re: WTF????
I can understand not letting the teams participate on Friday if schools is cancelled that day due to weather. The part that seems to be over the top is DEMANDING that the coach remove all mention of affiliation to county (taking up mats) and any participation by the coach in the hosting which the Su...

Fayette County Schools Not Allowed to Hodt or Attend National Guards
The Oak Hill Wrestling team and boosters/parents have put in a ton of leg work getting the National Guard Duals organized and ready as the host team and this is their key fundraiser for the year. Fayette County Superintendent Terry George informed all Fayette County Wrestling Teams (Fayetteville, Oa...

I know Trent Pullens from Fayetteville at 160 has wins over Crislip from Nicholas (3-0), Whitney from Braxton (14-0), and Kessler from Gwest (1-0) and a loss to Whitney from Braxton (8-7) and a loss at 170 to Williams from Braxton (fall).

I agree with last post. Greenbrier West beat a very good Braxton team and a very good Greenbrier East team yesterday.

Saw a possible state championship preview at 170 today between Patterson of Greenbrier West and Williams from Braxton. Patterson won 4-3. Awesome wrestling match.

Re: 2017 - 2018 A/AA Watch List
Trent Pullens from Fayetteville at 160lbs won the MOW at the Webster County Hardwood Duals and only gave up single point (penalty) the entire 2 days of wrestling. He beat a very good Braxton 160 and Nicholas County 160 that weekend.
Also I believe Mitchell from Lewis wrestled 152 last weekend.

Phillip Barber has 3 below 100 pounds and one that weighed in at Webster at 77. All 3 of them are fantastic wrestlers.

Re: Braxton
We usually see Braxton several times a year and I have watched them for the last 5 years now and their wrestlers are always friendly and so are the coaches and parents. A kid here and there may get emotional during a match but that happens on every team.

Looking to Join NHSCA Duals Elementary Team
My son, 52 or 55 lbs elementary school wrestler, is looking to join a team from WV to attend the NHSCA duals in May. Does anyone have or know of a team with open spots? My son was a state tournament qualifier this year and a 3rd year wrestler.

Re: Seed Meeting
Seeding is never going to be perfect no matter what. My son's head to head record gave him the 2nd seed at regionals (I thought that was pretty liberal myself) because the paperwork wanted his match-ups in the division he was wrestling at the state championships and the only times he has wrestles t...

This weekend was bittersweet. I watched my high school senior come up short of his goal of placing at states. I spent all day Saturday reflecting on the last 4 years and how I was going to miss it all so much. The pain of seeing the disappointment in my sons eyes. On our ride home from states on Sat...

Re: Murderer's Row
I guess this spot is good as any to apologize to geoswaff and anyone else I might have offended with my "cakewalk" rant. Indy as well as several other region 3 teams brought some heat. I stand corrected and great Job!!! Appreciate it. Indy was amazing and I noticed that a lot of region 3 ...

Re: AA/A State Tournament PREDICTIONS
That's 2 times in this thread you are assuming and insinuating...I think there are a lot of great wrestlers throughout the state in all classes and regions but when you qualify 13 out of 13 and 11 are champions then the word cakewalk is accurate and if I might be so inclined to assume myself, I wou...

Re: AA/A State Tournament PREDICTIONS
Actually South qualified 12/14 wrestlers. Now due to another wrestler scratching, South moves another kid in. 13 out of 14 in for South. I was at AA/A region 3 watching on Friday night. After watching many wrestlers from many other schools besides Indy, I am lead to believe that this region has man...

Re: AA/A State Tournament PREDICTIONS
What are you saying here? This isn't gonna be a repeat of the AA/A region 3 cake walk. I will admit that Region 1 is probably the most loaded, but to say that Region 3 was a cake walk is putting down a bunch of kids that don't go to Indy but that bust their butts and are quality wrestlers. It's lik...

This is the best idea I have heard so far. I really like it. I get the money thing but maybe allow a few more weigh ins to create more revenue opportunities. Too good of an idea to let losing regionals stand in the way.
