I was told today by my son's eye doc that he wanted my son to wear protective eyewear while wrestling. He is a youth wrestler but I thought I would get more experienced information on this forum. Does anyone know of any rules or have any suggestions for me on this? He does not want to leave this spo...

Will all be wrestled as bracket or will some these be round robin?

I would like to see a dual event just for WV. Each region wrestle off to make a region team. 6 region teams meet for a dual event. Clash of the region's.

Me either. Best to just go into it from main page. For those that don't know. Trackwrestling.com, popular events, then more events. You can filter the events. Easiest to filter the events by state.

With no info on WVYWA site we can't read the bylaws. But I don't remember anything about a true second last year.

The system is fine. Show up, wrestle, champ gets the spot. No better system than that. Participation is the problem here and that national duals is a long ways off. I think this wrestle off was done too early, maybe after WVYWA Championships, just my opinion. Only your top wrestlers will still be on...

Good question. Seeing this more and more but have also seen refs call and give points on excessive chining.

National Duals at Virginia Beach. Form says in March but they are actually held end of May. Memorial day weekend.

Agreed. Looks like the two parties came together somewhat, and it looks like every kid in the state will have the opportunity to wrestle at both tournaments this year. What else could our YOUTH WRESTLER ask for.

March 18 19 is the info I got

Tim Casto from Braxton County ran the qualifing match. You can find his contact info on WVYWA Page I think. But I was told this past weekend that the WV team was no longer going to national duals.

Good luck to all these wrestlers this weekend. I love seeing those little WV signs on the front of that podium.

Does anybody know a format for tomorrow? I'm guessing wrestlers from same region will wrestle off for that weight then all six regions will wrestle a round robin in dual format.

Our region put out info on there fb page. I have checked out wvywa site and keep watchin forum, have seen nothing on it.

The understanding I have is any WV wrestler can compete. On 4-9 all regions will meet in Summersville and wrestle off for the team spot. You probably would want to contact your region chair.
