How about this we have the coaches only rank 8 kids and they can only have 2 kids ranked per weight class per region and then that way the ranked wrestlers should make it to the state tournament.

Great wrestlers have not been qualifying for years.

Can anyone produce a post regarding the regions needing realigned before the realignment occurred? Now that it happened everyone is upset. Great kids have not advanced for years.

The point im trying to make is that the regions have been lopsided for years. Why is it an issue now? Why did they get realigned? Would we be having this conversation if they weren't?

Also in the 41 years I spoke of above a Region 1 team has placed in the top 2 every year. Will that dominance shift to Region 4 now, possibly.

You are assigning 234 championsto Region 4 that actually belong in Region 1. So if you do your math to reflect the regions as they were wrestled prior to this year you will actually see the dominance of Region 1. There have been JV wrestlers beating varsity kids for years. The regions have been lopsided for years so now we want to make an issue of it. Can anyone show me any other state results where they allow JV to participate. I would've surprised if there are any that allow it.

And I would imagine over the course of those Region 1 tournaments some pretty good kids didn't qualify.

Region 1 team has won the state team title 38 of the past 41 year. JM, Park, South, Parkersburg, Brooke and Weir. The only schools outside of Region 1 were Huntington twice and North Marion. Maybe it was time for a change

Ranked wrestlers don't make it to the state tournament every year it is what it is sometimes. The regions will not always be equal and haven't been for years there is always a more dominant region you just can't do anything about it in some situations. Regions may not be fair and but neither is life.
