I think you misinterpreted.
I wasn't criticizing. I was just saying it's going to be a tough weight class. The laughter was excitement at how tough the class is going to be.

Re: Florida allowing backups to participate?

Health and safety arguments are much easier for non-wrestling administrators to understand. Also easier for them to misunderstand and have a panic attack over. Arguments like that can easily demonize the sport as a whole, in their eyes, or lead to overly restrictive rules surrounding weight cutting...

Re: West Virginia National Wrestling Team

Thanks Kenny I tried to give some helpful hints of how we are doing so well and what works. But in life, you will always have people that are not happy with themselves. They are jealous of other people’s accomplishments or just did not make that first string line up when they were in High school. O...

You call it complaining while some call it a discussion. What a perfect place to do it but on a forum about wrestling. If you dont understand the big deal with the lopsided brackets then your not paying attention very well. It's not that big a deal. Two of them are down there because they lost at r...

Re: Out of Whack

Record is meaningless. A padded schedule can easily influence that. What matters is who is standing on the podium.
If a kid is talking about his record at the end of the year, he probably has some work to do.
What matters: state qualifier, state placewinner, state champion.

1. To put the "small schools in Calfiornia still have 1100 students" statement into perspective. Large high schools in California have over 5000 students. That's a difference of 4000. My point was more about the ability to field a team. A "small" California school with 1000 wres...

Oh, none of y'all have ever been late for anything before and had someone cut you some slack? Official correspondence (tournament flyer) said 0830, so 0830 it is.
I agree with the team being allowed to weight in and compete, without question.

Re: 4 Byes in AAA

Based on the regional results, the AAA state tournament will have 4 byes this season. Region 2 at 113. Region 3 at 106, 220 and 285. Lets just leave this all as is. Blame it on a declining population, leading to a decrease in the number of AAA schools in the state. At this point, arguments against ...

This leaves the regions with the following standing, when ranked in accordance to their individual ...

170 at WSAZ Devaney beat Kotsko and Patterson beat Devaney. Devaney beat Daugherty last year at state, but they haven’t met this year so far. Weight class is tangled up. The "second best" wrestler on a given team is also sometimes the second to 6th best in the whole state. The failures of people to be able to sort out these facts and recognize them differentiates us. I would suspect you were one that stayed home from school due to it being cold. :lo...

YOU want the second best wrestler from their own teams to compete in the state and regional tournaments tournament, meaning the BEST they could ever do is second pla...
