Re: WVU signee

Gutorone, No need to talk down to me. I do know the NCAA pretty well and how the recruiting process works. I was not recruited by WVU either (from the previous Coach). Quite frankly, if kids can qualify academically (which I am sure he does/will), WVU does not need to offer that much in $$ to get in...

Re: WVU signee

Adams is already committed. Gutorone, stop trying to start something that isn't there. Henson and the staff gets around the state more than Turnbull. Can't judge him for one recruiting class.

Re: NHSCA Nationals at Va. Beach

Though I know how good Fargo is (I wish I would've went to it when I was in school), kids will "really get recognition" from both Flo and NHSCA too. No matter which tourney you go to that is nationally recognized-TOC, Flo, NHSCA, Fargo, JR Nats, Super 32, etc-you will get some attention. A...

Not quite sure who USNA is above (he's correct), but I would be glad to talk with you Repo. I'm pretty sure you're from Fairmont, so it's pretty easy to find me! I know first hand about the service academies and can help any way I can. Get ahold of me if you'd like! I'll also post more about this to...

Re: Please read .....

I dont have a problem with the 5 second interpretation of the rule. Sure, it's not specifically spelled out in the rule book. But here's what is: Rule 7 Section 6 Art 1: "...action is to be maintained throughout the match by the contestants wrestling aggressively whether in top, bottom, or neut...

Re: AA/A vs AAA Parity

Agreed with csmith...only 3A in wrestling in FL, but goes to 8A in football and other sports. It's seems sport specific.

Would definitely be in favor! It will definite bring some parity and better competition at states!

Re: MN State Champ 6x

What do you mean test out? Wrestle varsity in 7th/8th? I coach here in FL, and I can't really say whether it's a good thing or not. I know it would degrade the quality of competition at the middle school level. But, I think the difference between a 12-13yo 7th grader and a 17-18yo senior is too dras...

mscoach4, not sure if you are going to do a AA/A too. But Dalton Michael v Will Cox will be a good one! I, for one, would love to see that one filmed ;)

Every other tourney...fine. The more the merrier!

Re: Seeding the State Tournament - Hybrid Pill

I've also posted on here solutions, but another positive for the pill is the fact that there are no intentional losses in order to be seeded lower. I know in the hybrid pill it doesn't matter either, but if they see who the seeded wrestlers are going to be, it might benefit them better if they know ...

Re: New Regions AAA - WOW

First of all, the WVSSAC is <snip> But I see I few solutions.. 1. A one-class state tourney.... A. Have districts/regionals/states. To ensure (more than likely) the top 16 make it to states and creates a sense of pride that "I made it to states"! B. Have regionals, place 8, take 8, 32 man ...

Re: Northeast Duels

No one is saying that the entire state of WV wrestling is better than those from PA, OH, or anywhere else in the US. What they are saying (and I would agree with) is that we do have some talented wrestlers who can compete at the D1 level and never got a look from WVU. I can name a handful off the to...

Re: Northeast Duels

I understand home duals are good...but the tourneys they go to (Vegas, Va Duals, Navy Classic, etc) are preparing them for the national tournament. At Navy we only had a few duals a year (only a couple home). Everything is practice for NCAAs. Patience Slick! They've got more support this year than t...

Pick em NCAA Wrestling Tournament

I came up with the idea last week on making a pick 'em for this year's NCAA wrestling tournament. So I worked all weekend on it and it is done and ready to go! For some reason, the document is not allowed to be posted on here. If I can get it to work, who all would be interested? I am working on a p...
