Re: Anthony Carman 100 Wins
Congrats to Anthony! He's a good kid. 160 at Brooke should be exciting! Starocci should be a challenge for them. Also the kid from Mars is pretty darn good and don't overlook Blue Mountain and Penn Hills. Yea, Starocci will be a real test. I watched him wrestle Zane at Powerade and then go on to wi...

Re: Anthony Carman 100 Wins
Congratulations Anthony on your 100th and OVAC title. We may see a re-match of the finals again this Saturday. Very exciting match! Thanks Gator. I'll be there this weekend. Come find me since we have never met. My wife won't be there so she can't point you out to me. I just saw the list of teams. ...

Re: Forfeit scoring
I understand that schools don't have full lineups and I am trying to stay objective. I really only see this as punishing the team with a full lineup. The coach went out and got kids to wrestle in his program and fill his lineup. He needs rewarded for that. I have to say this, my oldest son has wres...

Re: Could school closings affect these tournaments
According to my sources, there has only been 1 year in which the OVAC tournament has been affected by weather and all that happened was the Thursday night matches were moved to Friday. As for individual school attendance, that remains to be seen if each school district will allow their students to c...

Re: Why so much change?
each week i read this forum looking for scores, etc and there are always people wanting to change something about this sport. Whether it is the scoring system, jv wrestlers scenario, uniforms, divisions, how we rank, total number of weight classes, how we hold a tournament, etc. I think that wrestl...

Re: Question #4
My point is that kids cannot just up and transfer to any school they choose to. You didn't say anything about transferring. And actually, they do and it's done all the time. A talented kid (behind a better wrestler) that is 4th to 10th best should not have to transfer just because we (wrestling wor...

Re: Cancellations for this weekend?
The weekend before the state would be a good time for everyone to reschedule these events. Since this was the worst decision that the WVSSAC made to have the regionals 2 weeks before the state take advantage of this time to have your tournaments!!! 2nd worse decision. In any case, they aren't allow...

Re: Question #1
Wow! Football even breaks down competition to allow freshmen vs freshman???? That doesn't teach much life lessons. None of my bosses at work were my age. None of the employees I supervised were my age. Some were 20 years older and some have been 20 years younger. If a freshman is good enough, he wi...

Re: Question #4
Parents are on the hook for high school selection also. A kid goes to the high school in which they can walk or catch a school bus to. Otherwise, they need to catch a ride by their parents if they go somewhere else. What is your point? This question is irrelevant. My point is that kids cannot just ...

No. Parents have direct influence on college as well since they typically are on the hook for the tuition, room and board. Parents are on the hook for high school selection also. Do any JV wrestlers enter varsity tournaments?
Yes. Cameron allows JV's to wrestle their tournament. I would have guessed that you knew this since you knew EF wrestled EF.

You have to meet minimum qualifications which usually entails some type of open and work your way up to that. So yes there is a process.

Here is an idea. Set a minimum number of varsity matches that need to be wrestled. If a coach wants to enter 2 kids at a weight class then he can but only if both meet the minimum number of varsity matches. The coach needs to declare which is the starter and they will be seeded at the regional tour...

Not sure how I feel about multiple entries in one weight class. Some states do it, most do not. But to play devil's advocate. Individual sports are different from team sports. Tennis teams seed the kids on their own team. Then separate the regional/state tournaments by seed, but not every state doe...

I hear this but just wait for the comments not everyone can get a trophy and life’s not fair. I don't follow A/AA too much so excuse the question. How many of these kids are in the same region?
