Re: Question #1
dunbar.....what? I do get this. Anyone in favor of JV being nonscorers at state fail to realize we want to change a rule for the exception. It’s a microcosm of America. Though it may hurt 99% of JV kids to get mauled at regionals, that 1% may do well. If it was happening regularly, then it’d be in e...

Re: Question #1
But don't you see, his point will be that you are merely quoting rules and they are simply made to be broken/rewritten to make the situation better. Thus the kids sitting on the sidelines ready to quit Martinsburg football because they themselves are better than at least 50% of the high school foot...

Re: Question #1
I see what you're doing (mostly stirring the pot). Your entire point is irrelevant. Here is why. Each school can only enter one varsity team in the playoffs. So even if the school had 11 players that were good enough to form another team, win all their games, and only lose to their varsity, they sti...

I'd imagine they follow the protocol of submitting to Doc then Doc putting them on the scores page. Standard procedure around here.

Wednesday night's dual will be broadcast on the NFHS network for anyone that has a membership and would like to view the match. I hear the commentary is top notch.

Bearhugger,
197.1 tomorrow and 198.1 on Saturday. Can only bump 1 weight class so he has to be over the 195 max weight.

You're new to the board. Seen these threads take sour turns extremely fast. Not sensitive, simply experienced. Couldn't even begin to count the threads and posts we moderators delete due to outrageous speculation.

Going to go ahead and do a minimal amount of clarification before this gets out of hand. His missed time has nothing to do with any sort of trouble, grades, etc. Weird how he's the only wrestler that has missed time that gets a thread about him.

Re: A Simple Fix
Here's why not. There are no byes in the state tournament of those sports. We currently have AAA teams giving up weight classes on a regular basis, let alone the holes all over AA and A. So...you suggest we take a state that has missing weights already and split them up in to yet an additional brack...

That would water down an already watered down system. I'd rather take 32 in an all class tournament. That's the same number of kids, as well. Also, it strengthens the champions reputation as the best in all the land.

Re: Should Forfeits count?
This has taken a sour turn. A forfeit is a match. If you take 5 forfeits in a day and actually wrestle another, you've broken the rule. I have no idea why this is a conversation. A forfeit is no different than an injury default. You count it as a win. That simple. In fact, I know no coaches that ta...

Re: Thoughts on holdback wrestlers...
Teasdale was a 16 year old freshman and is a 2018 recruiting class member. He'll be 19 when he wrestles his senior year, which is not that big of a deal. You're saying if he was a senior and a three time state champ then his accomplishments would be more impressive as opposed to a junior and a two t...

Call me crazy, but 50/56 champs winning is a solid number. Just because you put six in all caps doesn't make it a significant number. I dare say it's barely above average...if it's above at all.

Absolutely, the kid HAS been injured. However neither kid appeared to suffer either an exacerbation of an injury or (in the case of 113), HAD suffered an injury during the tournament itself. I feel the fact that both wrestlers were heavy underdogs was the main impetus for " forfeiting"......

If both wrestlers are deemed healthy to wrestle prior to the tournament, (as in these regionals at PHS )then if no further injury or any injury occurred in the 1 or 2 matches prior to the finals ... Then what changed to deem them injured"??? Neither kid to my knowledge used any injury time in ...

I see what you mean. I thought you meant reporting as in timing. You just want everyone one the same page in terms of result detail.
EDIT: I'm confident they simply sent those in to get to the pill faster. I'd be shocked if brackets don't post shortly.

Seems like they were reported as they finished and doc had them up fast. I am not sure exactly what you're looking for. Maybe trackwrestling? Or maybe a baumspage type thing? Could you explain why results up in minutes was unacceptable?

Re: Seeding the State Tournament - Hybrid Pill
Basing the state seeds on rankings is absolutely crazy. I would be very interested to see how often one met two in the semi's, and then the loser not take 3rd. I remember times where number one was beat in the semi's and ended up 4th and lower. They are rankings based on opinion and a few results. P...

Depending on what the AA/A regions look like I heard a AA/A has contemplated wrestling up into AAA. Now that would be interesting!!! I wonder if they still allow that?
