Re: MSAC seeding
More importantly, can somebody list the specific seeding criteria to be used.

I hope your security clearance is higher than mine.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why fans and parents feel they need the seeding criteria? Do you not have faith that the coaches can take care of that? I have been involved in seeding meetings and they usually put the results out and give Coaches the chance to appeal and make corrections. Or, the coach is there to plead the case.
Usually when things aren’t seeded the way people think they should be seeded is a result at times of a coach not supplying critical information to help that wrestler. So then allowing the discussion after the fact to make corrections is really a pretty good thing.
There is no conspiracy, no one is out to hurt anyone. The only thing that happens by putting all the seeding criteria online is fuel for people to speculate and raise 14 kinds of hell.
The best thing for wrestling and any other sport is for parents and fans to stay out of the administrative functions of coaching.
Speculation, and how people think things should turn out is usually not taking into consideration. It is strictly off of who and how they wrestle.
What’s next? Checking scale certifications and calibration certifications? Just wrestle..! Things usually work out the way they are supposed to work out!

My statement above was a joke...lighten up a bit. I do however want to see the seeding.

Yeah, I’m cool..! This whole seeding question has been asked for the last two weeks. I don’t hear any coaches complaining or asking about seeding information. It’s always some fan or a parent. Leave the coaching and admin to the coaches.
Re: MSAC seeding
Now that you bring it up, what about scale certifications? Going to have to look into that further.

I think some on the outside were just asking about the criteria to better understand the seeding process or thought. It would have to come from a coach or admin( thus they already know and don’t need to ask)running the tournament. It would be good as an outsider to be a fly on the wall and watch the whole process.
Then again, maybe not.....

Just being silly.
Actually, if you go on some sites, like the Ironman, they are not hiding anything (I'm not implying that other people are) and give some very specific information about the seeding procedure, followed by a statement which I believe is something like, "In in the end, it is solely up to the discretion of the Tournament Director". End of story!

So wrestling fans and parents should just shut up and put 100% of everything into the hands of one individual who will insure the best interest of their wrestler, their team, their fundraiser?
Already this season we have had:
1. A fundraiser scheduled at Winfield high school got cancelled at the last minute. The moms vs moms thing. The "one side of the story" was that the team setting up the event thought they had everything done and ready. Then the day before the event, a "member of administration" informed them that they didn't fill out all the correct forms. If the "administrator" was truly supporting the event, they would have jumped in and insured all of the needed forms were filled out. Of course, there is the other side of the story but the event was cancelled.
2. The National Guard Duals almost got cancelled. The hosting teams were not allowed to participate due to school closings (cold). Teams from Kentucky, Ohio and Northern West Virginia managed to make it safely to the event. The administration forbid the original hosting schools to participate, benefit and have anything to do with the NGD. This included disallowing usage of one particular mat that had one of the banned school's names on it. So, the event was held for two days with one less mat, which made each day of competition last longer. This then got the wrestlers, coaches, parents and fans out of there later in the day. Of course, there is the other side of the story but three teams didn't get to compete and their teams didn't get to raise any funds.
3. Plenty more scandals and unfortunate events.
One of the biggest reasons wrestling doesn't get enough attention, support and participation is because the masses do not understand it. When people want a better understanding, the true supporters of wrestling will educate and answer questions. Lets be honest, no wrestling team has an army of fans coming to them wanting to learn more about wrestling. You better take care of the few people who are interested.

Re: MSAC seeding
Does anyone know the seeds for this event?
The Parkersburg News and Sentinel did not print one word on this tournament in today’s newspaper and Parkersburg High is hosting the tournament. Sad.....

One could take upon themselves that the wrestling community is becoming two factions. One we shall refer to as "the people in charge of something" and the other group are the fans and parents who would like a better understanding of the sport.
