Shockey graduated and Wright is going to wrestle at 175.

I don't believe Shockey has graduated. I think he is the quarterback on the football team and is only a Junior. Regardless of his graduation status, 190 seems pretty big for Gage to be wrestling in a few of the national tournaments. It will be interesting to see if he goes down in weight for the Iron Man and the Powerade.

I believe Gage wrestled three different weight classes last season. Maybe 4.

I heard he is going down to 113 to take a shot at Dolan.

I’d be surprised if Edge could make 175 and shocked if Brothers could make 190. Maybe he’s slimmed down but I just can’t be kid down Brothers at 190 until I see it on a scale. Plus he could be a 4timer at 220. Very slim chance of that at 190.

Plus WP has a stud, I think sophomore, that fits this weight perfectly unless ya have him at 220.

Thanks for the rankings. Always look forward to them.

There isn’t a 220 this year

A lot of speculation and craziness on this thread. Yeah, knowing the weight classes is a prerequisite to adding ones two cents.

I'm guessing they're refering to Brody Cottrell, who looked real good for a ninth grader up at 195 last year. I'm also guessing he was a little undersized for 195, so the change to 190 possibly helps him, unless he has grown a lot. On the other hand the drop from 195 to 190 will make it harder for Brothers, although I felt he could have made 195 last year if he trimmed down some, but in WV there was no reason for him to worry about dieting.

We'll all have to get used to saying the correct weight classes (215 instead of 220, but we all knew what you meant).

I see the team title battle being between Wheeling Park and Spring Mills.

The word on the street is Cottrell is at Linsly. He won't be helping WP any this season.

Another word on the street is Spring Mills picked up Smelser, who was a STQ for Musselman last season.

Park's loss and Linsly's gain. Sorry for spelling Cottrill incorrectly. Good luck to him there.

I was thinking of Cottrill but I see he’s now at Linsley. I know he’s more of a football recruit but does Linsley have a wrestling team?
