Unless they change weight classes 1st-5th place from last year will be returning.

Rumor is there will be an out of state transfer in that or surrounding weight classes

I would think most wrestlers would bump up at least a class, wouldn’t you guys think?

Not necessarily. If they weighed 140 and wrestled 145 then they could easily still be in the 140-145 area. Also, unless they spent the summer lifting weights or lifting donuts, most juniors and seniors don't gain much weight since most of them have surpassed their growth spurts. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the top three back at 145.

With that said, the simple reality is it is difficult to predict who will be where.

I think it would be a good weight to avoid in AAA.

Could be the place to be. Depends what you are aiming for.

Go for it! Nothing is guaranteed!

In AA, who looks to make an impact on 145 and/or 152?

Although the line up is not set, Independence will be loaded at 145/152. Three returning state champions and a returning runner up & NHSCA All American will fill those two spots. The other members will fill 138 and 160.

Berkley Springs has a 145 pound runner up due back. I believe his name is Munday. I heard he was wrestling in the off season around 160. He could be 152 or 160 this season. Pumphrey of Frankfort was the 138lb AA/A runner up last season. He was 138lb at Super 32, however, S32 is a big weight cut opportunity for many wrestlers. He could be 138 or 145 this season.

As we all know, at this point in time of the season, predicting weight classes is fun, but also trivial.

I will add that trying to predict the 285lb weight class will be an ongoing challenge until the state tournament. Anybody from 182 and up is fair game.

Guard is right. There may be good but not great wrestlers flocking to weights like 152 in aaa because it may be an easier road to 2nd or 3rd place because so many of the top level wrestlers avoid it.
