The only wrestler I have heard of that has won 100% (all seven) WSAZs is Logan Grass.

Adams won twice. Didn't win as a freshman and got snowed out as a junior.

Haught wrestled at Parkersburg two years and PHS does not attend the WSAZ.

Unsure on Cottrell.

Amos won 3 in middle school but South is in the OVAC which is the same weekend as the WSAZ.

Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
I kind of remember that match, as it was not common to see any of the Easters get beat.
It kinda goes without saying that he must of been very good to beat Seth by that score.

In the first half of the 90s Steve Humphreys from Nitro won in his 7,8 and 9th grade years. The tournament was snowed out his sophomore year. He was runner up to Indy’s present coach Jeremy Hart as a junior and won it as a senior.

The Mertens moved to Lawrence Co. from the Cleveland area of Ohio and they were definitely the real deal!!! I officiated that match between Seth and the oldest Merten Boy and it was a surprise to me that he got dominated like he did as well!!! GK

That win over Steve Humphreys was one of five WSAZ titles Jeremy Hart won in six tries. Lost a one-point match in the final his sophomore year.

It was pretty cool when they announced Logan Grass’ accomplishment his senior year at WSAZ. 7 titles!

Jake Smith was 3 for 3 in ms I believe. He won 2 titles in hs during freshman and senior year.

Quite an accomplishment for all these guys listed in the conversation.
