I think the ??? Is pretty accurate. Those 4, I believe, have separated themselves. Porter v Haga will settle 1/2 in a few weeks at Regionals assuming they meet. I think 5-20 are probably capable of beating one another on any given night.

Seee I disagree I think Porter should be number one he is the better wrestler. He will when this match by major decision

I think the only comparable is Chapman and Haga won 1-0 and I believe Porter won 4-1 this past weekend. I don’t think Haga can beat Porter on points but he can pin him in the right situation. At this point it wouldn’t matter if they were 1 and 1a. They’ll likely meet in the finals at regionals.

For ranking purposes, I gave the nod to Haga because he has been wrestling all season, South has a tougher schedule and he is a returning 285. Porter is of course the returning 220lb champion who has just started his season and moved up in weight.

Not taking anything away from Porter, but I think Haga will win by points. Souths coaches will put a game plan together. No way Porter wins by Major decision. Now Haga could get pinned as he has gotten sloppy with a throw or two in matches I have seen and Porter could catch him.

The Chapman match was actually closer than the 5-1 score would indicate with Porter. It was 1 to 1 with 8 seconds left and Porter was able to trip Chapman in the final seconds. With that said it was a good win for him and he wrestled well at WSAZ. In my opinion, any of the top four can beat each other. I believe it is that close.

The # 5 in the state would be Stiffler (JV) from WW.
Since he is JV I would have to go with Kelley (Huntington), or McKnight from Morgantown.

Just my two cents.

Appeared as Swafford was giving up 60lbs to Porter at WSAZ. With a hurt elbow can’t imagine he will beat Haga

285 seems to have alot more participants giving up a good bit of weight this year, almost like they could wrestle 220

Shoot, Swafford started the year wrestling 195. He’s always been a small 285. Seems to wrestle best with big guys.
