Rumor Control - Another Bye in AAA

One of the life lessons wrestling teaches us is to have a back up plan. If your stand up doesn't work, then hit a switch. If your double leg is slipping away, switch to a single leg. The more moves a wrestler has, the more options they have. Such as life. The more options we have, the better off we are..................in all areas.

When we limit our options, we more often end up with undesirable results.

We have undesirable regions in AAA. These regions now produce state tournament byes. When there is a regional bye, there is also NO BACK UP PLAN.

AAA Region 3 had a state tournament bye at 220. Rumor has it that another R3 220 is not competing. Two byes, same region, same weight class.

The solution is to develop a back up plan to allow other wrestlers who placed 5th in their region, to fill byes.

Another life lesson wrestling teaches us is to make quick decisions. Six minutes is not much time to make a decision, but it how long a match lasts. Taking two years to correct a known problem is going against the "life lesson philosophy" wrestling teaches.

Life is short. Wrestling careers are even shorter. State tournament weekend is shorter than that.

I hope the rumor is false.

If you were able to count all of the forfeits Thursday night in AAA, thank your math teacher.

High level math that is.
