AAA 126

Postby beachbum1234 » Sun Apr 11, 2021 10:33 pm

This bracket is so solid from top to bottom. Looking at talent from each spot, it'd be hard to argue there is a tougher weight class or has been in a few years. Congratulations to all making to this grinder of a bracket. It is going to be fun to watch next week.

Agreed. In a year where there are many weak classes, 126 sure stands out as the grinder.

I agree, but have you seen the bottom half of 132?

AAA 132 is deepest bracket of parity that I have seen. Wow. AAA126 has a couple wrestlers that stand out somewhat above the others IMO. Some weren’t challenged in their regionals. Should be fun to watch all of the classes, too!

The bottom bracket of 132 is insane. 3 former state champs, and 2 others whom have wrestled an accumulated 3 years of state tourneys and placed 3rd all three times. Jones has looked as good or better than anyone. I don't think Hardy has been beat this year. Felix just took down 2 of the 3 former champs and will probably cruise on the other side. You have 6 upper echelon wrestlers in this weight class IMO and due to the brackets, they won't all place.

I think Dolan and McAfee are hands down the best two 126 and could compete with the aforementioned 132's. It is unfortunate that they will probably end up facing each other in the semis. I think I counted 11 wrestlers out of the 16 in this bracket whom have either placed in a past state HS wrestling tournament or won MS WSAZ. That means there will be at least 5 guys who are used to winning and placing, whom won't.
