What do you mean test out? Wrestle varsity in 7th/8th?

I coach here in FL, and I can't really say whether it's a good thing or not. I know it would degrade the quality of competition at the middle school level. But, I think the difference between a 12-13yo 7th grader and a 17-18yo senior is too drastic. Yes, they would be at the same weight, but too many things can happen. And yes, you would also get guys who could win all 6 years.

I think we should leave it alone. Other things need to be addressed before this..

Only a handful of kids in ms would benefit from this. I think the potential for injury both mentally and physically is too high.

I agree with Indy Pats. There are only a few MS wrestlers in the state of WV that would benefit from being able to wrestle against true HS athletes.

I have personally officiated some of Mark Hall's matches when he was a 7th grader wrestling a HS varsity schedule in Kentucky. He was just as impressive then as he is now.
Hopefully he will have the continued success in college that he has the past 6 years.

I'm for it as long as its available to all. i coached in florida the past 3 years and its a huge difference in that state where only a few areas have middle school wrestling. so practicing 5 days a week in a high school room vs 2-3 days a week and than the competition difference. only bad thing in florida about it is only private schools or schools with 6-12 under the same roof can wrestle high school.
