Cabell Midland vs Ripley

Postby Bearhugger » Wed Nov 30, 2016 1:52 pm

These two traditionally tough schools are schedule to do battle on December 1st.

Ripley has won region 3 six out of seven times dating back to 2010. Cabell Midland has been either 2nd or 3rd seven out of seven times in region 4.

Both schools are now in the newly created "Area 51" known as AAA Region 4.

What a way to start the season. Two top teams, same region. Regional seeding on the line already. WSAZ seeding on the line. MSAC seeding on the line.

Rumor has it that Ripley has a full squad. Cabell Midland already has its lone returning state champion taking a red shirt.

Please post the scores in an effort to promote (rather than demote) the sport of wrestling.

Pearl Harbor Day. Very fitting. Somebody is going to get a bomb dropped on them for sure.

Somebody should have posted the revised match date for the fans. PROMOTE, DO NOT DEMOTE.

I am excited about all weight classes in both AAA and AA/A.

Just wait until the AA/A 285's start colliding into each other.

Marshall University will have to sit on the back porch during the WSAZ. There will be a different herd thundering through Huntington.

Ripley has been notorious for NOT posting their scores in the past many seasons. Cabell Midland might not be in any hurry whereas they lost.

I have finally found the value in networking.

Here is what was shared with me:

106 Ethan Koontz (R) w 8-0 dec. over Luke Jordan (CM);
113 Josh Sinclair (R) w 8-1 dec. over Tristen Childers (CM);
120 Payne Salmons (CM) pinned Evan King (R);
126 Tyler Haskins (R) w. forfeit
132 Matt Bailey (CM) pinned Hunter Cestaric (R):
138 Hunter Burdette (R) pinned Ryan Elkins (CM);
145 Jacob Starkey (R) pinned Nate Neale (CM);
152 Zach Dillon (CM) w 6-3 dec. over Jarrett Paugh (R);
160 Zach Hartley (CM) w. forfeit
170 Robbie Holley (CM) w 5-3 dec. over Chase Morgan (R);
182 Chance Morgan (R pinned Mason Fischer (CM);
195 Anthony Jarvis (R) pinned Prestin Rose (CM);
220 BJ Haynes (R) won 9-2 dec. over Hunter Taylor (CM);
285 Chaston Holley (CM) w. forfeit

It would be nice if people affiliated with the teams would post the scores to keep some enthusiasm going. We should not have to dig up information on the underground black market.

I did not post the scores because I figured the home team would do so.... I will, however confirm the "black market scores" posted by bearhugger are accurate. Congratulations to Coach Smith. He has a nice team of fine wrestlers. And their hospitality should be noted...the pepperoni rolls and brownies were delicious!!
