Congratulations South Patriots!

Someday, they may even have a full lineup.

Should have put Killer Miller in at 106. Moved everybody up to fill 126. Insert Wilson at 132. Move the next bunch up.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!

They could not pull it off at 106 to 132 with their best at their respective weight classes, what would the bump up have accompolished for them? Just curious what you think that would have done for them.

Wilson wrestled 126 for Martin. We were missing Flinn at 138 and Hinzman at 152.

Filled their line up for one thing. South pulled off the team title with no problem. A few more wrestlers would have scored more points. Probably scored them in consolation, but points are points.

It looks like DeLong didn't get the memo on raising his left sleeve.

Talk about a rankings shake up, the Spring Valley and Petersburg wrestlers had a good weekend.

Where was the Martin Bros of PBS? 2 great wrestlers, I got curious reading the results and did not see their name. Hopefully all is well for them. I was very excited to see that126 class with Luke in there.

Wow South was missing three of their starters and still claimed victory, sure those three would have scored some points for them too. Hope all wrestlers are back and lineup is back soon.

Spring Valley has a better team that than most think. I believe they only took 9 wrestlers to Winners Choice the rest were at St Mary's. They just don't have a history of being a strong program. However, that may be changing.

Lots of underclassmen placing in the top 8, that's promising. I guess I didn't realize "murders row" are all underclassmen as well, impressive. I like seeing the young guys getting it done!!

I for one am glad it's over. Every year I go there the attitude of the people running that tournament seem to get worse. It's like they are doing you a favor letting you pay to attend. I also thought it was very unclassy to charge the mat maids. I understand if they want to put a limit on it or make sure they are part of the team.

This was my first year to attend but I agree with your statement. Lots of bad attitudes, particularly by those who appeared to be in charge. This is a sport that is unfortunately withering, in this state, at present time. We need to be supportive of those who want to help/support our sport. I understand the need for control (i.e. Old school thinking). Heck, I definately fall into the old school category but there were a few that took this to new heights. We need to be inclusive not exclusive.

I must have been in my own little world, because I thought things ran pretty smoothly. I'm just a wrestling fan, but I enjoyed visiting with old friends and meeting some new, great people also.

I thought the wrestling was very good from all schools in attendance. Pulling off a tournament of this size without any glitches would be tough to do. I enjoyed myself.

.......didn't hurt that the BBQ sandwiches were great! ;)

Might want to find a different place for the refs to sit next year. They blocked the view of the center mat the whole tournament. I thought for sure they would have them move but no. They sat between the fans and the mat even during the finals. I will say everything started on time and didn't hear of any mistakes on brackets.

What's the deal with charging the mat maids and table workers admission? And who was the annoying old man on the microphone?

I agree that the mat maids should be treated like the wrestlers as members of the team. They are voluntarily giving up time to assist the coaches and the team. I thought the effort to control everyone was a bit much. Down to telling teams which sides the needed to sit on. Day one, there is never enough room upstairs for everyone. Period. I get wanting space for the spectators, but without the kids there wouldn't be an event at all. And the parents are spectators too. We pay to get in like everyone else.

That's another thing our team was upstairs and I was sitting by a stairwell that I could have walked up but they had it blocked off so I had to walk over to the main entrance and go up those stairs then walk back over. Should have called the fire department to see if the were allowed to block exits.

I thought the same thing. And during awards the stand were blocking the front doors. They didn't even move it out of the way when they were done. Last year it was against the wall where they had the table of awards set up.

Winners Choice does not charge the mat maids and table table workers who work the tournament.

They did to charge for mat maids and had a sign that said mat maids had to pay. Myself and another parent paid for the 2 mat maids our team brought because they were told they absolutely did not get in free. For the record these girls are not just girlfriends of the wrestlers. They help carry stuff in and out, keep stats, and help pack meals for the boys to eat.

I said if they WORKED the tournament, they did not pay. I had 14 there working and they did not pay. However, I do believe that each team should be allowed to bring 2 mat maids to keep their books for them, without being charged. However, that is not my call.
