The WV Wrestling Hall of Fame induction is October 29th. Super 32 is October 27th, 28th and 29th.

Every year, the WSAZ and the OVAC tournaments fall on the same weekend.

Seems to be a pretty common issue from what I can tell. Nat Guard Duals and WV Duals are usually the same weekend. Big16 and Winner's Choice are the same weekend.

As a member of the WV national wrestling HOF I can tell you that we have had the HOF banquet on the same weekend from the very beginning 16 years ago. We scheduled it on that last Sunday in October so that it would not interfere with the football playoff meetings and so that the coaches who do football and wrestling would be able to attend. As to scheduling conflicts there are many in tournaments thru out the year and we felt it was important to have it so as many people involved in both sports could and do attend and to make it before wrestling season truly begins andbefore the football playoffs began. It has been very successful and the people nominated and in the HOF really seem to enjoy the good food and fellowship. If you haven't been please attend as all of the people in the HOF are truly worthy of your support and honoring. George Keeney

I think last year the WSAZ and the OVAC tournaments fell
on the same weekend but not the 3 years before.

I would check that. I am pretty sure the WSAZ and the OVAC have only been on opposite weekends ONCE in the last four years. 2015 was the last time South and University attended the WSAZ.

Why not move it to the weekend between the regionals and states since you can't wrestle and the coaches have that weekend free now

Many of the schools have already used all their weigh-ins by this time.

I believe he was referring to the HOF ceremony.

How did we go from Scheduling to HOF?

The above mentioned tournaments have been contested on those weekends for a very long time. Occasionally due to several factors there may arise a weekend when there isn't a conflict. Not very often. The tournament directors have these schedules worked out for years. They will not change them just to satisfy a desire to see more competitive wrestling. It would be nice on some fronts to be able to see all of these tournaments live but it just can't happen the way schools and conferences work. Would I like to have the opportunity to watch the OVAC semis and finals and then see the Winners Choice? Heck yes. I've worked both of them and there usually is some fine wrestling. Is it a shame that folks do not have the opportunity to catch both? A little but that is what makes the sport great. Well at least one of the things. Be thankful we don't live in a state (maybe not) where there are more tournaments than two on a given weekend and try to scramble to see the talent. We are a small state with a lot of quality wrestling. Until there comes a better arrangement and I seriously doubt that day will come one will just have to do their homework and decide which direction they want to go. Or you can just wait on Regionals and States

We didn't. Your initial post was discussing the scheduling conflict between super 32 and the HOF, as well as the conflict between WSAZ and OVAeC. Refer to the above post.
