Postby KBratke » Tue Nov 21, 2023 11:12 am

Apologies for being slow on getting these results posted. Been a busy couple days in Morgantown as we prep the wrestling room to receive our new practice mats today!

Anyways, we had 20 wrestlers in action and 14 of them finished in the top 6. Caleb Dowling, Peyton Hall, Brody Conley, and Michael Wolfgram led the way for us as they brought home titles and some sweet title belts. There was also common opponents at 157, 165, and HWT. With numerous entries in each weight class common opponents are going to be, well….quite common.

Isn't Robin the Varsity guy? Bush did much better with their common opponent.

I get what you are driving at, but I know you know that some wrestler's strengths just allow them wrestle better against certain styles. I didn't see either match but also the end score can be influenced by the risks a wrestler is taking to try to win as oppposed to wrestling just not to lose big or get pinned. There are always wrestlers who just can't beat the teammate on their own team, but could beat or fare better against opponents that beat their starter. Not saying that any of the above is accurate in this situation, but I believe it does happen more often than one might think.
