Spencer Middle School Results

The Spencer Middle School wrestling team finished 3rd out of 10 teams participating in the Braxton County Invitational Tournament on Saturday Jan. 5, 2008, including Braxton, Ritchie, Trap Hill, Western Greenbrier, Mountaineer Middle, Robert L. Bland, Wirt, Braxton-B, and the Allstars (a team sometimes created for extra wrestlers from all the teams, to give them a chance to wrestle and gain experience, for exhibition only, not for team points).
Going undefeated for the Yellow Jackets in 1st place were Dylan Cottrell and Sam Whiting at (5-0); 2nd place was Luke Hottle (4-1); 3rd place John Ash, Sam Lawson, and Jacob Summers at (4-1); 4th place Jacob Maldonado and Michael McCumbers at (3-2), and Nathan Reynolds in 4th place at (2-3). Also wrestling from Spencer were Matt Bell, Sean Blosser, Michael Branard, Shay Parrish (1-3), and Colby Whiting.
Earning all of their contested wins by pinning their opponents, were: John Ash, Luke Hottle, Sam Lawson, Shay Parrish, and Nathan Reynolds.
For the weekend, Spencer's individual dual match record was (35-14), with 22 pins.
Individual dual match records for the season, to date, 205 wins and 137 losses.
On deck, the Spencer Middle wrestling team will host their home tournament on Saturday January 12, 2008.
