The Miller Duals have signaled the end of the season for the Jr. Highs
involved for the last four years. This means "good news, bad news". The
"good news": the wrestlers have had the entire season to improve. The
"bad news: grades, illness, discipline and school work may cause some absences.
Central Preston, Morgantown South and East Fairmont were victimized by
wrestlers who, for several reasons, were missing. The wrestlers who made it,
though, were wrestling hard; this was their last chance til next season.
One item of conversation: that Central Preston, which is slated to become
a 'middle school' next year, will do away with wrestling. We can only hope
that the powers-that-be in Preston County come to their senses and continue
the wrestling tradition that started in their county decades ago at Kingwood HS.
The folks at Miller always go out of their way to provide a great wrestling environment.
Hospitality, officiating and tournament administration are always important items to them.
They have next year to point to, when most of their team returns.
