FLOYD NAMED EWL WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 9, 2001) West Virginia wrestler Brian Floyd has been named the Eastern Wrestling League's wrestler of the week for his efforts in helping the Mountaineers defeat Penn State 22-10 last week at the WVU Coliseum, it was announced Tuesday.

Wrestling at 133 pounds, Floyd, a Worthington, W.Va., native, upset the Nittany Lions' Marat Tomaev, a former national prep school champion, 4-3.

On the year, Floyd boasts a 7-9 record with one major decision and three falls.

West Virginia is back in action at the Virginia Duals, January 12-13, in Hampton, Va.
