NO.10 WVU SET TO HOST DOUBLE DUAL MEET ON STUDENT APPRECIATION DAY

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 15, 2002) - The No.10 West Virginia University wrestling team (2-2) will play host to Bloomsburg (0-3) and No.19 Nebraska (7-4) as part of Student Appreciation Day Sunday, January 20, at the WVU Coliseum.

The Mountaineers will take on Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) foe Bloomsburg at 1 p.m. and will face No.19 Nebraska at 4:30 p.m., with the two WVU opponents squaring off in between the Mountaineers two matches at 3 p.m.

The event has been designated Student Appreciation Day and local school groups have been invited to attend the meet. Each student in the school group will receive $2 admission (and a Mountaineer wrestling team poster. To reserve your school group's spot or for more information, call the Mountaineer ticket office at 1-800-WVU-GAME in advance with the name of your school and the number of students you plan to bring.

The Mountaineers are coming off a tough 26-13 loss to No.7 Ohio State last weekend.

WVU will return to action with two home matches next weekend. The Mountaineers will face Virginia on Friday, January 25, at 7:30 p.m. and then take on Buffalo on Saturady, January 26, at 5 p.m. Both matches will be held in the Coliseum.
