MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University wrestler Greg Jones has accepted an invitation to compete in the 39th annual United States Marine Corps/National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic on November 22, on the campus of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
Jones, a senior, makes his third NWCA All-Star Classic appearance that pits the nation’s top two ranked wrestlers at each weight class in a dual meet format.

The event is usually held in the first week of February, just over one month before the NCAA Division I Championships. This year’s All-Star Classic will help kickoff the collegiate wrestling season with College Sports Television televising the meet.

Two-time NCAA champion Jones will face Iowa All-American Paul Bradley. The two grapplers met in the semifinals of the 2004 NCAA Championships with Jones earning an 8-3 decision.

Jones is 2-0 all-time in NWCA All-Star matches. In 2003, he defeated Oklahoma State’s Chris Pendleton, 7-3. Last year, Jones scored a 10-6 victory over Northern Illinois’ Ben Heizer.
