WRESTLING'S RECRUITING CLASS RANKED AMONG THE NATION'S BEST

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (June 7, 2000) West Virginia University's wrestling program has received national recognition for the upcoming season's recruiting efforts.

Intermatwrestle.com ranks the Mountaineers as having the fifth best recruiting class in the nation. Rankings are based on each teams' needs, impact wrestlers signed and the overall quality and quantity of recruited wrestlers.

The Mountaineers have four recruited wrestlers listed as becoming eventual all-americans during their careers.

"This recognition is very good for the program," coach Craig Turnbull said. "It is also recognition of good recruiting and it's nice for the recruits to come here knowing their among one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. This is a very good group of young men that I'm looking forward to working with in the next four to five years."
