Pennesi, Three Others Stand Pat in Rankings

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Dec. 6, 2012) – After his placement of sixth at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational last weekend, Nathan Pennesi, along with three other West Virginia University wrestlers, stood pat in multiple Division I wrestling rankings.

Pennesi (141) checked in at No. 18 in Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine’s poll, No. 19 in InterMat’s poll, No. 19 in Amateur Wrestling News’ poll and No. 24 in WrestlingReport’s poll. The Latrobe, Pa., native leads the team with 10 victories this season.

Shane Young (125) is ranked No. 24 by WrestlingReport, as he continues to work his way back from an ankle injury.

Colin Johnston (133) garnered a ranking of No. 26 from Wrestling Report.

Lance Bryson (184) was the final Mountaineer to earn a ranking, as he is ranked No. 22 by WrestlingReport. The Shoaf, Pa., native placed eighth at the Las Vegas Invitational.

WVU is idle is this weekend, but will return to action on Dec. 16, as it travels to Reno, Nev., for the Reno Tournament of Champions.
