Wrestling Schedule Altered

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (January 1, 2014) – The West Virginia University wrestling team's home dual-match against NC State, scheduled for January 10, has been removed from the schedule.

The meeting would have been the fourth time in program history the Mountaineers (8-2, 0-1 Big 12) and Wolfpack met on the mat. West Virginia holds a 2-1 advantage in the series, with the last meeting occurring in 1953.

The Mountaineers open their home season this weekend at the WVU Coliseum against Lock Haven at 7 p.m. West Virginia is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Reno Tournament of Champions, where six Mountaineers placed, led by senior Nathan Pennesi (133) and sophomores Ross Renzi (165) and A.J. Vizcarrondo's fourth-place honors.

No meet has been scheduled to replace the open date. West Virginia will host six home matches this season.
