Mountaineers, USA Wrestling to Host Google+ Hangout

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (December 10, 2014) – West Virginia University wrestling coach Sammie Henson, along with senior Michael Morales and freshman Zeke Moisey, will join USA Wrestling’s College Google+ Hangout On Air on Thursday at 2 p.m.

Fans can contact the panelists using the Google+ Q&A application or by tweeting questions with the hashtag #WVUHangout. The event can be viewed live on TheMat.com and will also be archived on the USA Wrestling Youtube Channel. For more information or to RSVP to the event, visit the USA Wrestling Google+ page.

Recently announced as an inductee to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, Henson is in his first season at the helm of the Mountaineers. An Olympian and World Champion, transferred his athletic talents to coaching and has produced 20 All-Americans and five national champions in 17 years. Most recently, he led West Virginia to its best finish in seven years at the 33rd Annual Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational last weekend.

A two-time NCAA Qualifier, Morales dropped down to 141 pounds for his senior campaign and is ranked 10th by Flo Wrestling and 12th according to Intermat. Morales has defeated three opponents while they were ranked in the top 10, taking down then-No.8/9 Mark Grey of Cornell at the Northeast Duals before topping then-No. 11 Todd Preston of Harvard and then-No.8/9 Joe Spisak of Virginia on his way to a sixth-place finish at last week’s Cliff Keen Invitational.

A true freshman, Moisey took eighth at 125 pounds at Cliff Keen, going 4-3 at the event. Wrestling unattached, he started his collegiate career with a third-place finish at the Michigan State Open in early November before also taking third at the Navy Classic later that month. Moisey was previously ranked 19th by Flo Wrestling and 20th by Intermat and currently boasts a 17-8 mark in his rookie campaign.

The Mountaineers will head to Lock Haven on Friday, Dec. 19, for a 7 p.m. dual with the Bald Eagles.
