WVU Announces Promotional Schedule

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (November 5, 2015) – In addition to exciting action on the mat, the 2015-16 West Virginia University wrestling season will feature several great promotions offered by the WVU athletic marketing office.

Sunday’s Mountaineer Quad, in which No. 21/23 WVU will host Drexel, Campbell and Arizona State, will be a High School Day. High school wrestling teams are eligible for free admission upon registration with the WVU athletic marketing office. Fans can also buy general admission tickets for all six matches for the price of one regular WVU match. Tickets are available in advance online at WVUGame.com or at the ticket office at the WVU Coliseum. Alumni who are in town as part of the WVU Wrestling Alumni and Friends Weekend will be honored at the event.

On Dec. 12, the Mountaineers will host Lock Haven as part of the team’s Cradles for Cancer event. WVU Medicine will be on site to collect donations while cancer survivors will be honored during a break in the action. Coach Sammie Henson started the event last year in honor of his wife, Stephanie, who was battling breast cancer at the time. WVU wrestlers donned pink socks and tape, while the coaching staff wore pink ties to honor those affected by the disease.

Fans who purchase a ticket for WVU’s Big 12 match against No. 1 Oklahoma State on Friday, Jan. 15 are eligible for free admission to the Mountaineers’ dual with No. 20 Oklahoma that weekend (Sunday, Jan. 17). Simply bring the OSU ticket stub to the box office on Sunday for free admission.

The coaching staff will host a free pre-match youth clinic prior to the dual against No. 12 N.C. State on Sunday, Jan. 31. Clinic participants will receive free tickets for themselves and two guests. Details and sign up information for the clinic will be announced at a later date.

West Virginia will host Pitt on Sunday, Feb.7 as a part of the Backyard Brawl series. It will also be a Dollar Day with all general admission and select concessions costing just $1. Fans who attend the match on Friday, Feb. 19 against Clarion will also receive a concessions deal, as all Coke and popcorn will be buy one, get one free.

In addition, the Mountaineers will sign post-match autographs following their final dual of the Mountaineer Quad as well as following duals against Oklahoma, N.C. State and Pitt.
