Grapplers compete at West Virginia Collegiate Invite

WHEELING, West Virginia -- WVU Tech wrestling competed at the West Virginia Collegiate Invitational hosted by Wheeling Jesuit University Saturday. The Golden Bears finished fourth out of five teams with a team score of 45.0 points. West Liberty University won the invite with a team score of 110.5.

Tech had nine Golden Bears place in their respective weight classes including two third place finishes from senior Tristan Bean (133 lbs.) and sophomore Logan Robertson (144 lbs.).

The fourth place finishers for the Gold and Blue were freshmen Austin Dilly (133 lbs.) and Cameron Crislip (165 lbs.) and sophomore Nathan McClaugherty (141 lbs.).

Finishing fifth after the all-day invite were sophomores Neko Aquilina and Clay Fritz (157 lbs.).

Senior Jon Cruse (149 lbs.) and Christian Lively (285 lbs.) finished sixth overall in their weight classes.

Tech returns to the mat Wednesday when they travel to face West Liberty at 6 p.m.
