1.JACOB BOONE SR.

 

     Jacob Boone Sr., an out of wedlock son of Catharine Coger, was

born in Franklin County VA in 1805. Family tradition says that his

father was a son of the legendary Daniel Boone.  He married Martha

Sands, a daughter of Mathew and Levisa (Fields) Sands, who was born

August 5, 1811 in Nicholas County VA (WV) and died July 28, 1897 in

Gilmer County, WV.

4.SAMUEL D. BOONE     1.JACOB BOONE SR.

 

     Samuel D. Boone, a son of Jacob Sr. and Martha (Sands) Boone, was

born in Lewis County VA (WV) December 29, 1833 and died in Gilmer

County VA (WV) July 22, 1861.  He married Mary Ann Lambert in Gilmer

County August 17, 1854.  Mary, a daughter of John Lewis and Nancy

(Stowers) Lambert, was born in Tazewell County, VA March 26, 1839.

5.CATHERINE BOONE    1.JACOB BOONE SR.

 

    Catharine Boone, a daughter of Jacob and Martha (Sands) Boone, was

born December 6, 1835. She married Dennis Stump April 16, 1835. 

Dennis, a son of Absolom and Margaret (Bush) Stump, was born about

1826.  He married Mary Brannon October 14, 1847. Dennis apparently

died before 1860, since Catharine appears as a head of household in

the 1860 Gilmer County census.  Catharine married J.G. Nicholson

January 19, 1875 and married Council H. Rogers June 23, 1878.

10.DANIEL BOONE   1.JACOB BOONE SR.

 

Daniel Boone, a son of Jacob Sr. and Martha (Sands) Boone, was born  September 28, 1846. He married Margaret J. Gainer May 4, 1865 in Gilmer County WV. Margaret, a daughter of Cornelius and Mary (Wright) Gainer, was born in Gilmer County in May 1843 and died between 1900 and 1910.

      They are listed in the 1900 Gilmer County WV census. Margaret was the mother of 4 children, all living.

    Henderson Boone, a son of Jacob Sr. and Martha (Sands) Boone, was

born in VA November 29, 1848 and died in 1913.  He married Melvina

Stump March 30, 1873.  Melvina, a daughter of Elliot and Sarah Jane

(Barr) Stump, was born September 26, 1856.

    Jordan Boone, a son of Jacob Sr. and Martha (Sands) Boone, was born April 8, 1856 in Gilmer County VA (WV) and died August 16, 1927. He married Ella Shock August 31, 1882.  Ella, a daughter of Alexander and Eliza (Stump) Shock, was born in Gilmer County VA (WV) January 2, 1861 and died October 24, 1932.

    John Lewis Boone, a son of Samuel and Mary Ann (Lambert) Boone,

was born in Gilmer County VA (WV) September 26, 1855 and died in

Greenbrier County WV April 15, 1940.  He married Ellen Helms in

Braxton County WV January 25, 1883.  Ellen, a daughter of Thomas J.

and Louisa J. (Whaling) Helms, was born in Patrick County VA December

9, 1859 and died in Greenbrier County December 1, 1910.

Wesley F. Boone, a son of Daniel and Margaret J. (Gainer) Boone, was born in Gilmer County Wv in March 1866. He married a widow, Rebecca Norman October 29,  1887 in Gilmer County WV. Rebecca was born in VA (WV) in January 1850.

      They are listed in the 1900 Gilmer County WV census. Rebecca was the mother of 4 children, with 1 living.

Martha L. Boone, a daughter of Daniel and Margaret J. (Gainer) Boone, was born in Gilmer County WV about 1871. She married Norval Campbell December 14, 1887 in Gilmer County WV. Norval, a son of Perry Commodore and Emily M. (Luzader) Campbell, was born in Gilmer County March 23, 1865.

In the 1900 Gilmer County WV census, Fred E. Campbell, assumed to be a son of Norval and Martha L. (Boone) Campbell, is listed in the household of his grandfather, Daniel Boon.

Zannie R. Boone, a daughter of Daniel and Margaret J. (Gainer) Boone, was born in Gilmer county WV in December 1874. She married Hyman Wiant in Gilmer County March 4, 1906. Hyman was born in WV in 1860.

Vernando “Buster” Boone, a son of Henderson and Melvina (Stump) Boone, was born in Gilmer County WV in November 1875. He married Myrtle Alma Bennett in Calhoun County WV October 21, 1897. Myrtle, a daughter of Nelson M. and Sarah E. (Rutherford) Bennett, was born in Gilmer County in April 1879 and died between 1913 and March 1918. They are listed in the 1910 Gilmer County WV census. Myrtle was the mother of 6 children, with 4 living.

      Vernando married Lillie V. (Price) Bowers in Calhoun County March 23, 1918. Lillie, a daughter of Lewis and Lillie Price, was born in WV about 1890. She married Herman Bower in Calhoun County December 20, 1908.

Ferrell’s second wife was Carol Stewart.

Newton Jordan Boone, a son of Jordan and Ella (Shock) Boone, was born in WB Janaury 26, 1886 and died June 8, 1969. He married Flossie Gay Rider Aug 12 1923. Flossie, a daughter of George Washington and Anna (Kerwood) Rider, was born in WV May 25, 1902.

Charles Okey Boone, a son of Jordan and Ella (Shock) Boone, was born in Gilmer County WV January 11, 1893 and died there May 21, 1929. He married Virgie Gay Keener January 7, 1923. Virgie, a daughter of French and Cora Keener, was born in Gilmer County about 1906. She married Earnest Guy Lambert in Gilmer County May 4, 1932.

Verden Price Boone, a son of Vernando and Lillie V. (Price) [Bower] Boone, was born in Calhoun County WV July 31, 1921 and died in Casa Grand, AZ Janaury 4, 2009.  He married Verle Virginia Kendall, who preceded him in death in 1978, His second wife was Ilene ----, who also preceded him in death.

      Verden was a US Navy veteran of World War II.
